Application of the Hydrogen Diffusion Model to the Hydrogen Permeation

The model of hydrogen diffusion formerly de- veloped [1] has been applied successfully to the hydrogen permeation experiment results of three kinds of materials,α—Fe,Fe—Ti alloy and Fe—Ti—C alloy by the mathematical fitting method.From the fitting results it was shown that the model can re- fiect well the diffusion of hydrogen in the materials with trapping.The obtained trapping parameters(α and β)can be used to explain well the diffusion of hydrogen in the samples with trapping.

In this paper,the microstructure and hydrogen embrittlement(HE) susceptibility of an Fe-Ni-Co based superalloy with different contents of trace elements,P and Mn,have been investigated.The results indicated that by lowering the contents of trace elements P and Mn,the size and distribution of γ' become more homogeneous,and the precipitation of stable phase η can be retarded to longer ageing time.As a result,the hydrogen resistant properties of the alloy are obviously improved.

A New Type of Submerged-Arc Flux-Cored Wire Used for Hardfacing Continuous Casting Rolls

It is expected that the welding hardfacing of continuous casting rolls has better welding performance and higher wear resistance. A new type of submerged-arc hardfacing flux-cored wire has been developed through nitrogen replacing part of carbon and addition of the nitrogen-fixing elements of niobium and titanium. And microstructure, degree of hardness and high-temperature wear resistance of its deposited metal samples were also investigated. It is found that the microstructure is martensite, residual austenite and carbonitride precipitates. As a result, the hardfacing metal with homogeneous distribution of very fine carbonitride particles had high hardness and excellent wear-resisting property during high-temperature wear, which could significantly extend the service life of continuous casting rolls.
